Cheering for a good cause

14 Nov

Saturday morning/afternoon was spent cheering for a good cause.  The Breast Cancer 3-day walk.  My daughter is a Girl Scout and last year as Daisies they took part in this and again  this year as Brownies.

This year was much more emotional, for me at least.  Almost a year ago one of our fellow troop members mom lost her battle to this horrible disease.  It all happened so quickly for her but she somehow always remained so positive.  She was a strong woman, mother, wife.  I admired her strength. We miss her greatly.

Another troop mom walked this year, in her honor.  They had become very close throughout her illness and it is so touching that she took part in it.  Thank you Jenny!

Typing this is making me emotional so I’m sorry if it’s brief, let me just share the day through pictures.

The 1st two walkers of the day, they were hours ahead of everyone else.

One of the walkers, they loved the support and cheering so our girls got asked to get photos with many of them Smile

Here’s our Super Star GS Mom!!

We miss you Kari xoxo

GS Troop #1486 Moms (-3)

It was a great time and our girls made us so proud when they showed so much support for several hours. At times they were tired and hot but never stopped cheering not once forgetting what sacrifice those thousands of walkers were making in hopes of finding a cure.  We really have a great group of Brownies.  Can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Nance! OMG!!!!! Your daughter looks so frikkin adorable!! You are such a wonderful mother for encouraging her to show support for a great cause. She will take that with her as she grows up. Not to mention that her & her little crew look so cute decked out in hot pink! Loves it!

That is so special that you all shared that day together and showed such amazing support and love. I’m so sorry to hear the loss of a friend happened from breast cancer, though. You honored her beautifully and that matters for a lot. 🙂

Thank you Tina 🙂 We can’t change the past but we can try to make a difference for the future.
